FILIPINO FOOD (Pagkaing Pinoy)

There is not just one, but plenty of Filipino dishes to crave for in every Filipino table. These foods are served at any occasion or gatherings: birthdays,  fiestas, weddings, and even simple family dinner. 

Lechon (roasted pig)
Hipon (shrimps)

Alimasag (blue crabs)
Alimango (mud crabs)
Ukoy (shrimps and bean sprout) at sawsawang suka (vinegar with garlic and pepper)
Sarsyadong lapu-lapu (sweet and sour grouper)
Adobong pusit (squid)
Pritong tilapya (St. Peter fish)
Balimbing (Carambola or star fruit) and Santol (Sandoricum koetjape)
Saging, manggang hilaw at hinog (bananas, green and ripe mangoes)

Pakwan! (water melons)
Buko (young coconuts)
Papaya, saging (papayas and bananas)
Maruya (mixture of mashed ripe bananas, flour, sugar and baking powder)
